Following the news that Bertram Laufer has left the company; Colorado Denim has announced Marco Metzner as its new brand manager.

According to a corporate statement, Metzner is already responsible for the German denim brand since April this year. In his new role, Metzer shall further develop the sales activities and brand identity of Colorado Denim, focusing on its specialty of never-out-of-stock (NOS) collections and a new focal point: the sustainable garment production according to the regulations of the GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) or BCI (Better Cotton Initiative). The company hopes to produce all of its NOS articles following these standards by the end of 2018. Seasonal collections shall also be produced sustainably and will complement Colorado Denim’s product offer. 

“Producing sustainably, ecologically friendly and fair is our mission,” said Metzner. These core values will now be put in the center in Colorado Denim’s complete marketing and communication. 

Metzner kick-started his fashion career with Peek & Cloppenburg Hamburg and has since held several positions in the industry, for instance as European licensing manager at Gil Bret. Most recently, the 49-year-old worked as key account/consignment manager for Gaastra.
