Herzogenaurach-based sportswear manufacturer Adidas is officially going to look for a new CEO to lead the business. According to an internal letter submitted to all employees and written by current CEO Herbert Hainer, the supervisory board of Adidas together with an executive search firm will evaluate possible candidates both internally and externally. The document describes the search as a long-term process, thus Hainer’s contract was extended in March 2014 until 2017 "to give sufficient time for a smooth transition at the helm of the Adidas Group".

The senior management of the company has already experienced some changes in the last year and a half: the first was the appointment of Roland Auschel as global sales director and a more recent one has been Karen Parkin as chief HR officer.

Parallel to this, the letter also unveils that the sportswear manufacturer will reveal its new long-term strategic business plan by the end of March 2015.
