Exhibitors, buyers and press can now add Antwerp to their fashion trade show itineraries. The Belgian fashion city will soon host its own trade show: the premiere of A Fair will take place here on January 29 and 30.

The show will focus on new luxury collections. Roger Elsten and Muriel van Nieuwenhove from Dragonfly Dream, the organizing company, expect about 100 exhibitors, including brands such as Manouche, Joe’s Jeans, Hoss Homeless, Rock & Republic, Strenesse Blue and by Malene Birger.

“It is time that Antwerp gets its own fashion fair since it is a well known fashion city with famous designers and a wide fashion scene,” says A Fair spokesperson Laurent Bocxtaele. Bocxtaele adds that the aim of the new event is to offer a trade show for the whole Benelux region since “many retailers are not satisfied with the current situation,” e.g. the Brussels fair, and are looking for an event in the premium sector.

The location of A Fair will be the Waagnatie, an industry building in the harbor area of Antwerp. The building has 6,000 sq. meters of floorspace.

Although A Fair overlaps with the Berlin fairs and Amsterdam fashion week, the management does not worry about the conflict. “We had to find a date in the end,” says Bocxtaele. “And as a regional concept we expect quite good response from Benelux.”
