Started out as a project work by communication design student Florin Weber, the Academy of Visual Arts now presents a new 3D visualization method for clothing.
The student developed a method of combining clothing and body movement in a live video installation to rethink the atmosphere of a plain changing room and by that, created a whole new shopping experience. Every movement of the customer is captured via tracking, as well as the fabric, color and pattern of a garment. Height, position and motions of the body silhouette get transferred to a grid system which then gets linked to the clothes in real time. A live 3D “movie” of the subject wearing the clothes emerges.
The method achieves an interactive event for the customer which brands can use to affect the client’s purchase decision and expands the Point of Sale.
