The art contest “#26 Motivi per fare Arte” held in the Milan Navigli area in July 2015 is coming to an end and will be further celebrated with the opening of a concept store in Milan city center.

This art contest was conceived by musician and showman Vittorio Gucci with the aim to offer young artists the opportunity to present their works to critics, public authorities, institutions and consumers.

The project, launched in September 2014 via web and through various promotions, curated 2,000 art pieces from all over Italy. A jury presided by art critic Vittorio Sgarbi selected the best 26 art pieces that won the #26MPFA 2015 art contest.

The 26 young artists were awarded during Milan Design Week in April 2015 and were offered the opportunity to see their works reproduced on apparel pieces, accessories, and objects thanks to collaborations with different fashion and design companies such as, for instance, Nolan (helmets), Avirex and Happiness (apparel), Divissima (beachwear) and Flick&Flock (phone covers). These special pieces were presented and sold during 26 night events held during the month of July 2015 in the Navigli Area – each event involved a fashion brand or a sponsor, various emerging street artists and typical Italian food. One of the events also involved Sportswear International as partner magazine (see picture: from left: Laura Smagliato (PR, Your Image, Milan), Laura Pianazza (SI) and Vittorio Gucci, founder #26MPFA).

The project #26MPFA will also find a home in the Milan city center where all the prized artworks and the related collaboration projects will be sold and also be replicated for 2016 involving kids aged between 4 and 14.
