From Feb. 7-9 CPD will present about 1010 collections, including a variety of new brands for the FW 10-11 season. Despite difficult economic conditions CPD is on par with last year´s event and is slightly up on the July fair. Attention at the fair centers on its relaunch, which began in July 2009 with enhanced concepts in the individual segments. All areas were reworked for the forthcoming event and CPD is set to unveil a contemporary new design. Newly created style universes include Luxury Women´s Wear, Maternity and Big is Beautiful, as well as Concept 11, Gallery and Decorate, and Womensworld. Italian Suite, in partnership with Ente Moda Italia, will also return with approximately 50 exhibitors. “CPD will show its visitors that we now changed our look,” said CEO Igedo Philipp Kronen at the kick-off press conference. CPD will be rounded out with a range of communication and information initiatives and about 20 fashion shows. One highlight is the “Design am Rhein” contest organized by the Igedo Company in collaboration with AMD Akademie Mode & Design in Düsseldorf on Saturday, Feb. 6.
