After weeks of turbulent speculations about a possible cancellation of Bread & Butter’s January edition in Berlin, trade show boss Karl-Heinz Müller has now confirmed that the show will take place on its usual grounds at Berlin Tempelhof.

However, the show will be reduced to one hall only (the July edition still stretched across five halls). According to Müller, all of the roundabout 200 brands who already signed a contract for exhibiting will be united in the central Urban Base, no matter which segment they used to be categorized in before (Urban Base, Urban Fashion, Urban Superior, L.O.C.K or Lunapark). Amongst the brands who previously confirmed their plans to exhibit at Bread & Butter in January are Nudie Jeans, Nobis and Crocs Footwear.

During the summer edition of Bread & Butter in July 2013, Karl-Heinz Müller announced to move the trade show to Barcelona but cancelled these plans in August 2014 after the industry and trade showed sceptical about the Barcelona event.

Following the seesaw, many traditional Bread & Butter exhibitors have moved to alternative Berlin trade shows, for instance Mustang, Codello and Camel Active, who will show at Panorama in January, Carhartt, who will show at Bright, Ben Sherman at Seek and Floris van Bommel at Premium.
