CPI2 present web tool for climate protectionCompanies from the textile and shoe sectors have joined forces for the Carbon Performance Improvement Initiative (CPI2). Their aim is to reduce CO2 emissions at production locations worldwide.
Thirteen trading and brand companies such as Deichmann, Ernsting’s Family, Hamm Reno, HSE24, Karstadt, KiK, New Frontier, Otto, QVC, S.Oliver, TAA Mosgen, Tchibo and Tom Tailor Group, are part of the initiative.
From the 11 - 22 November, the UN conferences concerning the environment and climate meet in Warsaw. The CPI2 will present its online tool at the conference. The web tool creates systematic improvement process for any supplier and creates information for them that will assist in reducing their Co2 emissions.
Dr. Matthias Händle, CEO of the Hamm Reno group and chairman of the initiative, comments: “We are not only purchaser, but also ambassador for the suppliers. If the factory determines by using the web tools that they unnecessarily harm the environment and are also throwing money out the window, then suddenly new ways open up to advance climate change.”
