Native Shoes acquired by founder & investorsNative Shoes, a Vancouver-based global brand known for its lightweight EVA footwear, has been acquired by one of the company’s original founders, Scott Hawthorn, along with a small group of private investors. Hawthorn, who has been actively involved in Native since its birth four years ago, has also moved from acting to full-time CEO as a result of the deal.
“This significant investment will provide Native with the resources to strengthen our business partnerships and grow our global position, and I’m thrilled to lead the next phase for such a dynamic brand,” says Hawthorn. “We are laser-focused on expanding our efforts in the US, bolstering our operations, strengthening our supply chain and implementing systems globally that will better serve our partners and support our long-term growth.”
Hawthorn appointed Darren Hawrish as company president last month. Hawrish has more than 20 years of experience in the retail and apparel sectors. Additionally, a board of directors will advise the brand. Board members currently include Hawthorn and John Vance, an industry veteran. Additional appointments to the board will be made in coming weeks.
Native Shoes are currently sold in more than 45 countries.
