Pleats Please Issey Miyake Celebrates 20th AnniversaryPleats Please Issey Miyake, the Japanese designer's own collection based exclusively upon plissé materials, celebrates its 20th anniversary this year.
In celebration of this innovative fashion concept, which is based on colourfulness, easy-care and easy-to-pack fashion, the Japanese fashion house has launched its first fragrance Pleats Please Issey Miyake, produced by Beauté Prestige International, a new watch for the collection Issey Miyake Watch, designed by the British designer Jasper Morrison and its first book Pleats Please Issey Miyake (see http://www.sportswearnet.com/businessnews/pages/protected/Issey-Miyake-Presents-Pleats-Please-_5930.html).
In addition to this, a new series of visuals, created according to the visual concept ‘delicious things’ have been created by graphic designer Taku Satoh, for the occasion. "The term 'delicious' evokes many different ides," comments Satoh. "It is an onomatopoeic word - whatever we imagine as delicious looks tempting and emotive. For this we imagined different 'delicious' visuals in order to tempt everyone!"
A new series of photos by Francis Giacobetti portraying dancers also accompanies the new collection.
