Danish Textile firm DK Company announced that it intends to take over BTX Group’s Young and Modern divisions which include a number of apparel brands, such as b.young, Blend, Fransa, Ichi, FQ1924, Dranella and Gestuz including retail concepts of b.young and Fransa, and the Retail Norway division with approximately 150 clothing stores. The mentioned activities had a turnover in 2011 of DKK 1.5 billion and about 450 employees. The transaction gives BTX Group the opportunity to focus on its market-leading core business in the Classic Division.

"We are content that we now have an agreement of acquiring the three BTX divisions. We see the acquisition as a natural continuation of the positive development, we experience in DK Company. Our trend division already comprises successful brands such as Kaffe, Cream, Karen by Simonsen and Kön & Mön. This division will be strengthened by BTX’s portfolio of brands. We obtain a leading position as the third largest fashion group in Denmark and become a strong partner for the retailers. We are experienced in integrating acquired brands, and we look forward to be merged with new and skilled employees from BTX. We see a significant potential in developing the business by integrating the best from both organizations and gain new, shared strength. The acquisition of the stores gives us a unique opportunity to develop our retail concept. Especially the 150 stores in Norway will cement our position in the important Norwegian market," says Jens Poulsen, Founder and CEO of DK Company.

Jesper Roe, CEO of BTX Group comments: "The combination of our Young and Modern activities with DK Company’s similar activities has a strong industrial rationale and provides the best possible conditions for developing the brands targeted against the younger segments. This allows us to focus 100 % on our Classic division which has developed strongly through the latest years. With brands such as Brandtex, Imitz, Jensen Women, Signature and Ciso, our classic division today is a leading player in Scandinavia within female fashion for grown-ups. We look forward to expanding our position further."
