Swedish fashion brand Björn Borg, mostly known for its sporty and colorful underwear, extends its portfolio by a sports collection for spring/summer 2012. The new range includes a women’s line (“Sport Candy”) as well as a men’s line (“Fast Forward”), both of which are further divided into the themes of tennis, running, workout, basic sport and sport lifestyle.

According to the Stockholm-based company, Björn Borg Sports combines performance criteria and a dynamic design in cheerful colors and tight-fitting cuts. Whilst the tennis collection offers short dresses and checked shirts, the running line is all about functionality and intelligent materials. Colors range from classical white, black and grey to bright accents in pink or yellow. Altogether, Björn Borg Sport consists of 150 pieces with wholesale prices ranging between €10 and 35.

The Björn Borg Group acquired a license granting exclusive rights to manufacture, market and sell products under the Björn Borg name in 1997. In 2006, it also obtained the Björn Borg trademark and therefore exclusive global rights to use it for all categories of products and services. Next to its core business, underwear, the company offers swimwear, socks, footwear, a small apparel collection and, through licensees, also bags, fragrances and eyewear. Björn Borg products are currently sold in 15 markets, of which Sweden and the Netherlands are the largest.
