25 Oct. 2012
Abercrombie & Fitch opened in MunichToday, Abercrombie & Fitch opened the doors of its first store in Munich. A giant billboard on the historic facade of the completely renovated Hofstatt in Sendlinger Straße - over years the home of the well-known Süddeutsche Zeitung - announced the arrival of the US American brand.
Since days, the male models were standing on the balcony of the store or in front of the doors, drawing attention to the up coming opening. Because of the fresh weather, today, the models were wearing open red jackets above the naked skin. Hundreds of young people were queuing up in front of the store, filling the whole street with enthusiastic shoppers and all those, who didn’t understand the buzz and just waited for something to happen. At about 11 am, the male models opened the door and finally gave access to the store.
Counting 3000 sqm on three floors, Munich now hosts the biggest A&F store in Europe and the third one in Germany after Düsseldorf and Hamburg.
